Fitness Goals – Is Your Goal Timely?

March 22nd, 2010

Setting Timely Goals For Fitness

Having a Timely goal is probably one of the most important parts about setting S.M.A.R.T. goals for fitness and exercise.

We all want to lose weight, get in shape, feel better, look great in a bikini, etc.

But when?!?!

Putting an endpoint on your goal gives you a clear target.

When making Timely goals, some examples can be specific dates: “I want to lose 10 pounds by June 1st, right before Summer kicks-off.”

From there you than start working towards your goal, making sure each week you are taking the appropriate steps towards meeting it.

Another example can be “I’m going to join a Fitness Boot Camp before the end of February” would be another Timely goal.  Because, remember, joining our Boot Camp not only will help you meet your fitness goals, but you will be held accountable too.

Once you’ve created a Timely goal, you are now done with your S.M.A.R.T. Goals.

To recap…

S – Specific

M – Measurable

A – Attainable

R – Realistic

T – Timely

And there you have it… S.M.A.R.T. goals you can use to help you achieve a better, healthier, more fit, lifestyle.

What are you waiting for!?!?!

Fitness Goals – Can You Attain Your Goal?

March 8th, 2010

Attainable Fitness Goals

We love it when people are ambitious…

But, sometimes, they are just not Attainable!

When setting fitness and weight lose goals, you need to make sure it is an attainable goal.

For instance, losing 50 pounds could be an Attainable goal… however, that’s a big number.

A better way to look at losing weight is through the old saying: “you can only eat an elephant one bite at a time.”

The same goes when you’re setting goals for losing weight and getting in shape.  Make sure they are Attainable, but than break down the goal into smaller steps.

One way of doing that is having a weekly goal of losing 1-2 pounds per week.  That is a very Attainable goal to do, when you combine good exercise habits, as well as complimenting it with a great nutrition plan.

You are than bound to achieve your goal within 1 year, which is a healthy way of losing weight.

The Dojo of Karate has one of the best Fitness Boot Camp programs that is designed to help you meet Attainable goals of weight lose and fitness.

Why?

Because we put you on a fitness and nutrition program that challenges you.  We hold you accountable too.

And, when you can get better results by training in our Fitness Boot Camp than going to a big boxed gym or training with a personal trainer, it’s almost a no brainer to join our Fitness Boot Camp.

More importantly, though, our Fitness Boot Camp programs are fun.  You’ll get a great workout, get in shape, meet new people, and just have fun!

Setting Fitness Goals – The S.M.A.R.T. way

February 16th, 2010

Fitness Goals - Westminster Boot Camp

It’s 2010 and many of us have set some goals for the new year. Some are pretty lofty goals, while others are just designed to get the ball rolling – rather a short or mid term goal.

However, have you ever tried to set a S.M.A.R.T. goal?

I bet you haven’t. Seriously.

First of all, goal setting skills are very difficult to obtain. Mainly because we sometimes do not have an accountability system.

Well, The Dojo of Karate has a Fitness Boot Camp Program that is designed to not only help you meet your S.M.A.R.T. goals, but also hold you accountable.

Chief Fitness Instructor, Javier Lozano, Jr. has been training in the Martial Arts for 20 years, has won a World Title and Colorado State Title in fighting, helps others achieve their goals, and owns and operates a successful Martial Arts & Fitness school in Westminster — therefore he knows a thing or two about goal setting.

But, before we talk about our Fitness Boot Camps, we want to give you some S.M.A.R.T. goals and relate them to our Fitness Boot Camp.

So over the next several weeks you will learn not only how you can begin to set S.M.A.R.T. goals, but also start to lose weight and get in shape for the Spring.

Until Next Time!
