More Broomfield Boot Camp Testimonials

May 7th, 2010

We’ve got more testimonials from our boot campers from getting amazing results.

The average amount of weight these ladies are losing is about 4 lbs in 4 weeks… the healthy way. However, we’ve had these ladies lose approximatelyy 2-4 inches on their waist, hips, and thighs by simply following our workout plan and nutrition program.

Those companies that say you can lose 20 pounds in 4 weeks… though it may be possible, your biggest concern should be whether it’s healthy…

Losing weight is great. It’s motivating, builds confidence, and makes you healthier. However, it’s not worth the cost of your future health.

So, when you’re looking for a fitness program that guarantees results, make sure it’s healthy.

Westminster Health & Fitness Boot Camp Launches New Time Slot

March 30th, 2010

After high demands of incorporating an evening Fitness Boot Camp, The Dojo of Karate and Fitness will launch a new time slot starting in April 2010.

Fitness Boot Camp Instructor and Certified Personal Trainer, Javier Lozano, Jr. is the owner and Chief Instructor of The Dojo of Karate and Fitness. A premier martial arts and fitness school serving residents in the Westminster, Broomfield, and Thornton area.

“Many of the parents at our school have been requesting an evening Fitness Boot Camp, and we were just having trouble fitting it into the schedule” says Javier. “But we made a few adjustments, and were able to find a time slot.”

The new time slot will start on April 13th from 8:00pm to 8:45pm, and take place every Tuesdays and Thursdays for a 4 week session.

Their fitness program is called the Fighting Fit2 Boot Camp Fitness Program (TM), and it has been taking the country by storm.

Founder and National Director, Michael D. Massie is the creator of the F2 Fitness Boot Camp, and has been in the martial arts and fitness industry for over 25 years. He designed this boot camp with the mind-set of getting the best results in a short period of time.

What makes Fighting Fit2 Fitness Boot Camp (TM) so different from the others across the Denver Metro area?

Where do we start!

For starters, the F2 Fitness Boot Camp (TM) is taught by Javier Lozano, Jr., a former World Champion fighter and Certified Personal Trainer under AFAA. He has a solid understanding of how the muscles work, and what types of exercises will deliver results to help build lean and toned muscles. He has also trained in the martial arts for 20 years and continues to train regularly.

Under his watchful supervision, he coaches and encourages you from the beginning to the end, and takes a passion in helping you meet your fitness goals. Javier also uses an accountability system in all of his boot camps and demands only the best effort from everyone. But still encourages people to have fun.

The next thing that sets the F2 Fitness Boot Camp (TM) a notch ahead from other boot camps is their actual program.

They constantly use muscle confusion during every session. Meaning, their exercises are never the same, therefore the body can not adapt and plateau.

“Every time you come to class, we have a new workout” says Javier. “Even though it may be working the same muscle groups, the actual workout is different, and it can get other smaller muscle groups involved. Let’s face it, variety is the spice of life, and exercising is no different.”

Javier has incorporated exercises that use body-weight resistant, medicine balls, resistant bands, kettlebells, and sandbags, just to name a few.

By using all of these training tools, equipment, and more, boot campers never know what the next exercise will be.

They also use interval training during the cardio portion of their workouts. Basically, this involves you performing short bursts of exercises for a short period of time.

The beauty of interval training is that you will continue to burn calories 24-36 hours AFTER your workout.

However, probably the biggest difference that sets the Fighting Fit2 Fitness Boot Camp Program apart from the pack is their unique and powerful nutrition guide.

“Our motto is, ‘you can not out train a bad diet.’ I make sure to tell everyone that joins our boot camp to follow the guide because they will see results within 4 weeks. If they do not follow our nutrition plan, they will not see the results that others have experienced” says Javier.

The best part, they do not charge extra for the nutrition plan. This is apart of your membership when training in the F2 Fitness Boot Camp (TM)

Are you curious to see how great the Fighting Fit2 Fitness Boot Camp (TM) really is?

Javier allows everyone to try 1 free class before enrolling in a 4 week session. However, he highly recommends you signup for 3 sessions, or 12 weeks in order to get the results you desire.

March Martial Arts Newsletter – 2010

March 6th, 2010

Greetings!

We’ve had a wonderful couple of months so far at The Dojo Of Karate, which is great!

Last weekend, we had an extremely successful inner school tournament with over 50 competitors, and it looked like everyone had a blast.

We plan on hosting another inner school tournament in the Fall around September / October this year, and make it a traditional bi-annual event.  However, we will probably have to rent out a local gymnasium for a few hours, in order to accommodate all of the competitors and their guests.

So, here’s what’s going on next over the next few months…

Adult Self-Defense Seminar

As many of you know, we are hosting a FREE adult self-defense workshop on Saturday, March 20th, from 10:30am to 12:00pm.  This is reserved for the first 30 attendees, so I highly suggest you guys register now to save your spot.

To signup for the self-defense workshop click on the link below:

http://www.AdultSelfDefense.com

Feel free to pass on this link to your friends, co-workers, or family members, as we want to make sure we have an opportunity to teach several guests some reality-based, easy to learn self-defense techniques.  Our goal is to host 2-3 of these events per year in order to give back to our community.

Open Karate Tournament

The first open Karate Tournament for the year will be Saturday, March 13th in Parker, CO.  Please keep in mind that you must be a member of Black Belt Club in order to compete in this tournament, however, you can go as a spectator to support our school and your fellow classmates.

We have flyers at the front desk that you can grab, fill-out and mail back.

The Dojo of Karate is a member of the Colorado Karate Association, so if you would like to chase points and have an opportunity to win a Colorado State Title in your division, you can become a member for a small nominal fee.  You also save on your registrations during each event.

To learn more about the Colorado Karate Association simply go to the link below:

http://www.coloradokarateassociation.org/

There you can find a schedule of upcoming tournaments, divisions your and/or your child will be competing in, and information about becoming a member.

Super Kids Expo

Local magazine publisher, Yellow Scene will be hosting their 2nd Annual Super Kids Expo on Saturday, April 17th from 10am to 4pm at the YMCA on 95th and Arapahoe in Lafayette.

This expo is a great way for families to learn about local camps and activities you can signup your child for during the Summer.  The Dojo of Karate decided to purchase a booth for the event to promote our Summer Camp Special, which was a huge success last year.

We were also asked to do a Karate Demonstration for the event!

So, all of our Black Belt Club Members will have an opportunity to train for this event and put on a great show… indoors!

Over the next 5 weeks, Black Belt Club classes will basically be Demo Team Practice.  Since many of our students understand what to expect when putting on a demonstration, routines should be learned fairly quickly.

Please keep in mind that students must be apart of our Black Belt Club in order to participate for the Demo Team.

If your child will not be able to perform during the Super Kids Expo, they will train in Black Belt Club classes, as this allows them to learn certain routines.

Karate Uniforms

As many of you know, the basic Karate uniforms students wear get fairly dirty quickly, or kids grow out of them.  And, they are practically impossible to get white.  If your child falls in that category, please understand we want our students to look presentable during classes and outside of The Dojo, therefore we are asking all parents and students to invest $30 to purchase a new uniform — if they are about to fall apart, getting to small, or no longer white.

The Dojo of Karate carries all sizes, so feel free to talk to Mr. Lozano about purchasing a size.

If Mr. Lozano feels a student’s uniform has become “wore out” he will let the student and parent know about his too.

Thank you for your understanding.

The Breast Cancer Boot Camp

Last year, The Dojo of Karate partnered with a parent to help raise money for the Avon Walk For Breast Cancer in June.

This year, we’re going to jump ahead and host a Fitness Boot Camp to help raise money and find a cure for Breast Cancer.

We plan on hosting The 1st Annual Breast Cancer Boot Camp in May (date to be announced).  However, we  would like this to be a community and school event.

If you are interested in participating in a Fitness Boot Camp that is for a GREAT cause, I highly suggest you keep your ears peeled because this is going to be a stellar event… and a killer workout!

An example of getting the school involved is having ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Week’ where students can purchase PINK belts to wear during their training sessions to show their support.

Within the next few weeks, we will have more information about this.

Bolder Boulder 10K

Do you plan on running the Bolder Boulder this year?  Do you want someone to run with you during the Bolder Boulder?

Well, we would like to put together a group of adults, parents, and kids interested in participating in this annual event hosted in Boulder.

Mr. Lozano ran the Bolder Boulder a few years ago and had a blast!  Even if you’ve never ran a 10K, you’ll have some fun because several families get together to run this event.

The Bolder Boulder is hosted on Memorial Day Weekend, so if you’re in town, you should make an attempt to run it!

We’ll have more information about this too.

Well, that is pretty much it for now.

Until next time!

Is Knowing Self-Defense Important?

March 5th, 2010

If you are like most people, you are not quite familiar with basic self-defense skills.

Most of us live our lives without the slightest concern of learning how to protect you and your family because we live in a safe neighborhood, or your spouse can protect you.

In A Perfect World, We Don’t Need To Know Self-Defense

But, we don’t live in a perfect world…

This is why we believe it is important that everyone has an understanding and basic training in self-defense.

It’s not uncommon to experience a mugging at your local grocery store, an assault in your neighborhood, or  feel threatened by an unusual person while going to the gym.  These are all common locations that one may need to defend themselves.

All it takes is being off your guard.  Not being aware of your surrounding.  And being too scared and freezing to be a victim.

Many of us will say “well, that won’t ever happen to me.”

Are you willing to bet those words on Vegas odds?  I think not because you don’t know.

Here’s the point.  There is no guarantee you and your family will always be safe.  However, learning Self-Defense will give you a fighting chance to not only protect yourself, but also the necessary confidence that comes with it.

The Dojo of Karate is the only Martial Arts school in Colorado that is teaching the new Self-Defense Black Belt Program.  Meaning, this is an elite program that is designed for the common, working man, or stay-at-home mom.

It is reality-based self-defense that will teach you proper striking techniques, pressure points, and confidence to do whatever it takes to fight back.  It’s easy to learn, and almost anyone can learn our curriculum in 3-4 months.

Are you interested in actually learning how to protect yourself?

The longer you wait, the more likely you can become another statistic.

One last note… The Dojo of Karate is conveniently located in Westminster. We service residents in the Broomfield, Westminster, Thornton, and Denver area.

Call 303.920.4500 to learn more about the Self-Defense Black Belt Program or email us at: [email protected]

Until Next Time,

Javier

Fitness Goals – Is Your Goal Measurable?

March 1st, 2010

Believe it or not, this is a common mistake by many goal setters.

Making your goal Measurable is quite important because this is what will continue to drive you in achieving your goals.  It’s basically your motor.  If you see progress, you will continue to push.

A great way to see if your goal is Measurable is to ask yourself these questions: How much? How many? How will I know when it is accomplished?

That way, you can see progress.

For instance, you can measure weight lose by pounds using a scale or a tape measure around the waist.

Whatever the case is, measure it!

The Dojo of Karate always Measures your goals.  Most people join our Fitness Boot Camp because they want to lose weight, get in shape, feet better, and just have more confidence in themselves.

Well, Boot Campers are always given goals by measuring their progress through Physical Fitness Training Days, taking measurements of their body, and calculating weight and body composition.  From there, you are able to establish reasonable and measurable goals because you are given a baseline.

Plus, all of our Boot Camps are put on a nutritional plan that is designed to help you meet your measurable goals.  Our motto is:

You Can’t Out Train A Bad Diet

The Dojo of Karate offers fitness and exercise classes to residents of Broomfield, Westminster, Thornton, Erie, and Denver.

If getting fit again is a goal of yours, please contact The Dojo of Karate at: 303.920.4500 or email us at: [email protected]

Until Next Time!
